The features of the city
Omsk is a major industrial center and transport hub of Russia, the administrative center of Omsk Oblast. The city is located on the banks of the Irtysh and Om rivers, which is where its name comes from.
The city with more than 300 years of history is interesting for its architecture, culture, and traditions. It was from these places that the development of Eastern Siberia by the Russian Empire began.
Omsk’s streets are full of sculptural monuments so unusual, striking the imagination, that this city can rightfully be called the repository of modern urban sculpture in Russia.
