Landscape Lighting for the Veresk Residential Complex

In July 2023, the Svet Expert company completed all work related to the landscape lighting of the Veresk residential complex.

Svet Expert's specialists were selected to design the landscape lighting for the Veresk Residential Complex. The zoning principle allowed for the creation of various areas, including play zones, green spaces, walking areas, rest zones, and a well-thought-out identity—a light labyrinth that not only serves as decorative outdoor lighting but also supports climbing plants.

Project Lighting

The task for lighting designers was to use lighting accents to divide the area into separate segments and to provide a consistent background illumination for the main traffic areas used by residents and visitors of the complex. The landscape lighting project included the use of a large number of embedded LED modules: nearly a kilometer of LED strips integrated into the concrete bases of alpine slides and flower beds. Additionally, dozens of low bollards were used on the premises, evenly spreading warm glowing light over the pedestrian pathways. Special attention was paid to the greenery in the Veresk courtyard, so lighting designers aimed to emphasize the abundance of greenery within the residential complex. Consequently, the lighting concept turned out to be cohesive, cozy, and safe for residents of the Veresk Residential Complex.

Metaphors in Design

The metaphor for the new residential development was the plant "veresk" (heather). This delicate and sensitive flower combines nobility and courage. The project's architects aimed to create a prototype of a heather field with the harmony and strength of nature, evident in every section and detail of the concept. The main goal of Svet Expert's work was to create landscape lighting that would not overshadow the architectural lighting. Since the beautification of the residential complex is entirely surrounded by building facades, it was necessary to design lighting that would highlight the landscape's beauty without creating light pollution or an excessive amount of general lighting. The concept of the Veresk Residential Complex project is purity, environmental friendliness, and lightness, so Svet Expert's architects chose not to complicate the facade's geometry but rather emphasized wall surfaces and inter-floor spaces with linear LED modules. All fixtures on the building facades are painted in the complex's brickwork color, and all wiring is concealed. The landscape and architectural-artistic lighting of the Veresk residential quarter are interconnected through a unified control system, allowing for simultaneous brightness control of the lighting flow.
