Lighting concept and festive design of the city of Chernyakhovsk

Svet Expert has developed and approved a lighting concept and festive decoration for the city of Chernyakhovsk with the administration of the city.

Light designers and lighting engineers have been creating a unified urban environment concept throughout the year, focusing on the current street lighting conditions in Chernyakhovsk. The administration of the city has approved a light master plan, which includes the central streets, the historical core and surroundings of the modern part of the city, connected by a single style of outdoor light.

The idea of creating a light master plan for the urban environment has emerged recently. The project aims to unite different styles of architecture in the Kaliningrad region and the era of urban construction. The “quilt” metaphor of the project, which inspired the lighting technologists, was the “quilt”. Facade art lighting, like a “blanket”, will unite parts of the city together, like “strips”.

Chernyakhovsk is an absolute treasure of eclecticism, where the mixture of Prussian architectural heritage is preserved against the backdrop of panel houses. It is the combination of different eras and images in structures that allowed us to metaphorically link the whole city into a single evening solution: a combination of cold and warm glow of LEDs. The use of amber LEDs, which will add coziness and warmth to the streets of Chernyakhovsk, has become an unusual proposal. The main dominants are highlighted in the city. The ensemble of the Insterburg Castle, the city theater, the pedestrian bridge, the Catholic Church of St. Bruno of Querfurt have become the center of the creation of the entire urban environment lighting album. Also, the master plan included all the monuments and small architectural forms that evoke associations with Chernyakhovsk, reflecting its style and spirit. The lighting project also includes modern objects: ensembles of living arrays “Motley Row”, apartment buildings on the streets of Teatralnaya, Gospitalnaya and Kalinina, schools, administrative buildings.

An unusual solution will be to illuminate the architectural ensemble of Insterburg - the castle, which is a ruin that has survived since 1262. The castle ruins will be illuminated with multicolored LEDs, creating overflows and gradients from purple to golden color. And it is proposed to highlight the Chernyakhovskaya water tower through narrow optics.

Another interesting solution will be the framing of the city theater. With the help of special techniques, various lighting options will be launched on the theater’s facade.

Chernyakhovsk is the oldest city in the Kaliningrad region, the third largest. It is one of the most beautiful, frequently visited, interesting for its architecture, history, recognition and identity of tourists, cities. It is well equipped and equipped: reconstruction of park areas, squares, and central streets are regularly carried out here.
